John Heard, AIA, Named Architect at Phillips Partnership
ATLANTA—John Heard, AIA, has been hired as an Architect in the Hospitality Design Studio at Phillips. In this role, he will further build Phillips’ Hospitality Studio through his many years of hands on experience.
Phillips, an Atlanta-based architectural and engineering firm, provides full architectural and engineering services for the multi-family, retail and hospitality markets.

Heard brings more than 37 years of expertise acquired during a successful career in architecture, design and planning, and has a passion for hospitality architecture. Heard is currently a Gwinnett County Commissioner (District 4) and has held public office as a State Representative from 2002 – 2008. Prior to his public service, Heard ran his own successful architecture practice, John Heard Associates & John Heard Architects, specializing in hospitality, commercial, and institutional projects. Heard has a proven track record of maintaining long-standing customer relationships, establishing new contacts and successfully building and managing teams.
Heard holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture engineering from Southern Polytechnical Institute. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects, is registered in 15 states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
